Your Role
As a Lecturer/Researcher in Fashion Management at AMFI, you will help train strategic, forward-thinking, and creative professionals for the fashion industry. Working with a team of 15 lecturers, you will shape and implement an innovative curriculum to prepare students to excel in a rapidly changing industry.
Your lessons will emphasize critical topics such as societal challenges, circularity, and digitization, while fostering creativity. You will spark ambition and curiosity in students about developments in the fashion value chain, enabling them to contribute to transforming fashion into a sustainable, inclusive, and meaningful industry.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver engaging lessons on business, management, and strategy within the fashion industry. Topics may include supply chain management, purchasing and merchandising, leadership, strategic business operations, and consumer behavior, depending on your expertise.
- Student Guidance: Supervise and mentor students during internships and graduation projects, focusing on practical relevance and the integration of digital and sustainable solutions.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design and execution of a new curriculum that emphasizes applied research methods and tools.
- Research Lab: Help establish and manage a research lab for third-year students, offering hands-on experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Equip students with practical research skills valuable in both academic and business contexts.
- Academic Engagement: Participate in industry and academic platforms such as conferences, panels, and workshops, and contribute to publications on digitization and sustainability in fashion. These activities will keep the curriculum relevant and aligned with industry trends.
- Industry Projects: Supervise group projects where students tackle real-world challenges from the fashion industry, ensuring practical relevance in research initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with coordinators and the broader AMFI teaching team to create a cohesive educational pathway from the first year to graduation. Contribute to teaching across the AMFI-wide curriculum.

What You Bring

- At least a master’s degree in a relevant field.

Creating tomorrow at the faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industry
AMFI is the largest fashion institute in the Netherlands and covers the entire fashion chain. AMFI trains talented students for careers in fashion with a teaching team of around 100 staff members. AMFI is part of the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industry (FDMCI), one of the seven faculties of the AUAS. The faculty provides associate degree, bachelor's and master's education for about 10,000 students in the fields of fashion, media, communication, design and ict. Together with eight lectorates, joint labs and a large number of partners, practice-oriented research is carried out. The faculty employs about 1,000 staff (700 FTE).
