This role –lecturer– holds responsibilities in both tracks of our sport management bachelor's degree programme. Our English language track which is International Sports, Management & Business (ISMB) and Sport Management & Ondernemen (SM&O) track, which is taught in Dutch. Within these two programmes we educate sport managers for a career in the world of sport, working at (elite) sports clubs, national and international sport federations, commercial sport providers, sport service agencies, sport brands, sport retailers, and civil society or (semi-)public organisations that use sport to address social issues. As part of the programmes students engage in several sports themselves, in order to develop their personal, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills. We also offer the master’s programme MSc Sport Business & Leadership (MSBL) - taught in English.

 

As a lecturer you:
•    lecture in the sport management programmes in subjects for example: financial management, sport marketing, sport management, entrepreneurship, sport practice and so on; •    have a focus on collaboration and well as supporting all stakeholders in the team; 
•    have quarterly and yearly development discussions and plans of the programmes; 
•    have a desire and the experience to carry out research regarding the development of the sport management programmes; 
•    follow and implement relevant developments of the faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
What you bring to the table?
Candidates should have the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience: 
•    a master in sport management/sport business/finance/management/sport marketing/economics related field; 
•    lecturing experience in sport management or a related field; 
•    a background in sport, management or entrepreneurship; 
•    international experience/network; 
•    cultural awareness, sensitivity, and empathy; 
•    a teaching certificate, or willing to obtain one within a set period;
•    designing and implementing learning experiences in higher education; 
•    excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills; 
•    fluent in Dutch and English. 
•    heart for sport and head for business.
 

What we have to offer?
•    A gross monthly salary between € 4.535,76 and € 6.359,47 (Hay profile lecturer/researcher 2, scale 11 cao hbo) with a full-time appointment and depends on education and experience. •    A year-end allowance of 8.3% and a holiday allowance of 8% of your gross annual salary. 
•    428  holiday hours per year with a 40-hour working week.
•    Entitlement to various types of leave, such as (un)paid parental leave, care leave, adoption and foster care leave and various other arrangements.

Two Bachelor Programmes and one Master Programme
We offer a programme called Sportkunde - track SM&O, taught in Dutch and Sport Studies - track ISMB, an international curriculum taught in English with more than 50 nationalities in our student body. Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity
The Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity is one of faculties of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity is strongly embedded in society and often leads and embraces the latest developments for the profession from the work field.
